Update made incompatible with ipad Mini Retina

My daughter loved this app and used it often. After the update, it no longer opens on the iPad she uses.

Please tell me what is SO advanced about a video and a reading app that makes this obsolescence necessary. Also, forcing an update that makes the app not work is lousy manners. Youve lost my business.
